Dear Ones,

You may think we have all gone about our Christmas preparations and have not thought of all of you.  It is not so, never.  You are so in our hearts from moment to moment.
I do not know you by name, but I feel your spirits changing and challenging the world we know, you are making a difference.  God knows that.

I pray your families will be safe and you will be home with them shortly, they too, are our heros.

Remember God is there on every mission.  He is there to comfort and take care of each of you.  I believe that thought has a lot of energy and power, so know that you have millions of prayers and thoughts behind your personal and professional challenges.

God Bless and come home safe. You are changing the world, even when it is hard to see, I know.

God Bless and keep you safe.

Hi everyone,

I want to thank every one of you for putting yourselves in harm's way to protect us at home.  The sacrifice is huge, especially as the winter holidays approach.  I pray for your safety all the time and I am continually amazed at your strength and dedication to your job.  My nephew is a Navy Seal and I know the fear of families who have someone actively serving. We are so proud of our military around the world-you are awesome men and women!  Never forget that pride in your accomplishments in the military, now or later in life, because we will not.

Love, Katleen Stewart-Nov 11, 2009

God bless you and keep you safe. Know we are so proud of you all, and for what you stand for. You fill us with such pride.

Thank you.

Dear Service Men and Women

My four-year-old son and I put  a card to "A U.S. Soldier" in a collection box at the Post Office today, only to discover this evening that the DOD won't deliver it anymore.  But let me try to recreate here what my son dictated to me in his message to you:

Dear Soldier,

I love you.  Thank you for the good work you are doing.  I hope your family sends you lots of pictures and you get a good present.

Love,

Jordan

As much as we want to see all of you home, we believe in your work you are doing. I hope you can see that good reflected in the face of a least one person that you help today...and whatever holiday you observe, we hope it will be a cause for celebration.

"It is dawn and I am ready.  The battlefield lies gloomily before me yet I fear not for the armor of God, though I am one I am not alone.  I can not see but I know the Holy One is in me.  The Father and Son go with me.  I am ready to fight.  I am humble before the Lord.  My faith is my breastplate.  His word is my sword.  I shall not loose this battle Lord.  Never less the outsome.  You've already won the war.  In your name Jesus.  Amen.

Dear Service Men and Women:

Where does one begin in trying to describe the gratitude, love and support we have for all of you.  We care so deeply for you and admire your commitment and selflessness in maintaining the way of life we enjoy in the States  Your effort and the memories of those who've given their lives are not forgotten, nor do we discount or consider their sacrifice and that of their loved ones, family and friends to be anything less than incredible heroic.  May God be with you always.....and thank you, thank you, thank you for your service.

It is March 27, 2007 here in the United States and you are probably aware of the division in the government about how to proceed with the war in Iraq.  In spite of what the media reports and in spite of what our elected officials with short memories and the circus of inane celebrities, the ordinary people of this country are grateful  for what you are doing: keeping America safe for future generations of Americans.  The sacrifices you are making today are ensuring a better, more secure future for your children.  As a mother of a soldier in Iraq, I want you to know that you are in my prayers every day. When I look into my grandson's eyes, I know it is because of your sacrifices that he is safe from car bombs and suicide bombers.  May God bless and protect you and bring you home to your loved ones.

Nancy C. Roberts-Texas

I just wanted to say to any soldier, sailor or marine that I am so proud of what you are doing over there.  I am a Vietnam era veteran and I want to make sure you are recognized for all of your efforts in our war on terrorism.  Good Luck.  Godspeed your return home.

We would like to say THANK YOU so very much for all you are doing for us.  The words are simple but they carry with them all our heartful appreciation for protecting us and keeping us all safe.  We hope you are doing well.  You all are very special to us.  When we think about all you are doing it fills our hearts with love, respect and admiration for you.  You make us PROUD.  We hold you close to our hearts and pray for you.  We care and support you.  With our love and gratitude for doing a great job. You're truly the best.  Thanks for being our HEROES!  God Bless you and Take acre.  Love, CT

It's 2AM here in New Hampshire, and I just watched the CNN clip about Sgt. John Michael Sullivan, the soldier who died merely hours before his child was born. His Humvee was hit by a roadside bomb. It brings tears to my eyes. I'm not in the military, but I do love freedom and everything that being an American represents. Like I said, it's 2AM here...and I feel safe. People in other parts of the world can't say the same, and I count myself and those close to me blessed. Thank you so much for your sacrifice and for protecting our American freedoms.

Bill Detlfsen, Nashua, NH

I would like to thank you for a great job you are doing protecting our freedom here in the United States. Here in Massachusetts it seems more like spring weather than weather we usually have in December/January, which is fine by me. Usually, mornings find me at the horse barn where I board two horses and seven goats and it is freezing when I have to chop the ice out of the water buckets each day. This year....I have no complaints. I wish you a speedy and safe return back home. Best wishes, Marilyn

Thinking of you on Christmas Day (and every day) here in New Hope, PA. No snow yet. In fact, we have unseasonably warm weather – clear skies and 50 degrees. Not great for snowball fights or to burn wood in the fireplace, but it works for a little outdoor exercise. The big news in Philly land this afternoon is that the Eagles play the Cowboys at 5PM. Of course, we are rooting for the Eagles. Hopefully, Jeff Garcia and the birds can pull off another great game and take us into the playoffs! So, here is wishing you a joyous message from home and lots of love and support! Best wishes, Bill, Cathy and Craig Hooper

Hello from Plymouth MA... we appreciate what u are doing and pray for u always... stay safe... take care.... God bless Marion

I can't imagine the kind of courage and strength it must take to be a soldier, but I can tell you that I am grateful that you have it. Two of my brothers served in the military, as did both of my parents (ok, all three if you include my step-father as well!). There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you, over there, fighting so selflessly for freedom, and pray for your safety. I grieve for every loss. I always wonder what I can do, one person without a personal connection to someone over there. I once read a story about a soldier who died, and his parents wanted to have a bridge in their small town in Vermont dedicated to him. There was a battle between the two towns that the bridge connected. One of the towns was "Pro-Troops" and felt very strongly that it should be dedicated to the fallen solder. The other town was "Anti-War" and felt it was inappropriate. When the parents were asked, they said that they just wanted there to be a memorial somewhere so that people wouldn't forget their son. That every day, as people crossed that bridge, even though as time went by they might stop looking at the plaque bore his name that was there, they might think of him and remember. In that moment, when I read that story, I realized what I could do. I could remember his name. I could remember that he was a person who had a mother and a father and a place that he called home. And that he fought for my freedom. By remembering him, it symbolized my feelings in a way that made him real to me, even though we had never met. His name was Kyle Gilbert. (His story, and the story of the bridge was published in USA Today, and can be read at http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2004-12-13-soldiers-tribute-cover_x.htm) I will remember you this Christmas, and every day that you are not home and pray for your safety. Sending love from Merrimack, New Hampshire.

Lisa Greenleaf-Merrimack NH

My family and I would like all of you to know that we think of you every day. We are extremely grateful for your service to our country. My wife and I were brought up to appreciate our right to vote, right to speak freely and the right to choose our religious affiliation. We know these rights come with great sacrifices. We are bringing up our daughters the same way. We know that you'd rather be here to hear this message in person. We'd rather have all of you back here out of harms way. Until that time please know that you are remembered here in our small town in southeastern Massachusetts.

Robert Rocha, Kristen Leotti, Emma Rocha, Acushnet, MA

Thank you for your service to your country. It is very difficult to be far from the comforts of home and the loved ones. Please know that people like me light candles for you, attend prayer vigils and donate items to collection points. I served 10 years in the Marine Corps and remember the hardships that came with serving your country. Keep up the good work, keep your spirits high-and keep your mind sharp!

Lisa K. King

I don't have a deep-down heartwarming story. I don't have a soldier in the family and I didn't lose anyone in my family to September 11. I am just an average high school senior coping with college and boyfriends and life. I deal with school books and reports and essays. I face nothing bigger than my car payment every month. I just wanted to say Thanks. It's only you who makes it possible for me to deal with that sort of stuff. To make the biggest problem of the day that rejection letter. Thanks for protecting me and keeping my family safe and for fighting the war so I can keep my monthly payments the biggest fear on my mind. Sincerely and with all my heart, thank you.
